About Me

Hi, my name is Lakaia
I love to paint and I would love to share my work with you
Originally from Medford, Oregon I first started studying fine art at 15 when I enrolled at Rogue Classical Atelier.
After almost four years of classes I left to pursue higher education at St Olaf College in Minnesota where I earned my Bachelor's in Art History.
I spent one of my four years of college at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland where I started to paint and sell architectural watercolors of places I visited within Aberdeen and across Europe.
After graduation, I moved back to Southern Oregon and began teaching for RCA as well as studying advanced oil painting under Charity Hubbard.

As my body of works has developed so has my interest in live event painting. I have always loved weddings and I am always so honored to be a part of such an important event in someone's life.
My work is representational but I also take influence from impressionist styles. My desire is to capture the moment and the movement rather than a more stiff hyper-realistic style.
If you enjoy my work then please reach out, order a print, or a commission or, even better, hire me to paint at your event!
